Adams seconded the mo- <br />tion, which carried unan/mously. <br /> <br />The City F~anager said the Plan C~,=,Jssion rec~,~nded approval of a subdivi- <br />sion plat for One McKnight Place which would permit the development to operate <br />as a condominium-type ownership. He said the developers do not plan to sell <br />the units as condominiums, but believe this change will allow the property to <br />be taxed at residential r~ther than c~,,~rcial rates. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval, with Mr. Schoomer secondLng the motion. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schuman asked if this move was speculative, or if it had been tested in <br />court. Mr. David Smith, 7323 Maryland, said the developers were relying on a <br />State Tax Cu~u~ssion case (Banner Tire), as precedent for this action. <br /> <br />Ail voted Aye. <br /> <br />SUBDMSION PLAT - U-HAUL AT OL/VE AND MIDIAND <br /> <br />The city Manager concurred in the Plan Cul~,,~ssion recommendation to approve a <br />subdivision plat which will allow Dubbles Restaurant (adjacent to U-Haul) to <br />lay out the parking and driveway for this business in an improved manner. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner, liaison to the Plan Cu.~dssion, said the property being discussed <br />is Lot 1 (which abuts Dubbles' property) on the drawing that Council received. <br /> <br />Mr. ~dams asked if the parking and driveway layout will come to Council for <br />approval. Mr. Ollendorff said he did not think so, noting that when the Plan <br />C~Lu,.~soion originally reviewed Dubbles' plans, provision was made for this im- <br />provement to take place if Dubbles obtained the property. Mr. ~ams said he <br />%aDuld like to see what is to be done before it gets under way. Mr. Ollendorff <br />said he would see that Council got that information. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoc~.r moved approval. Mr. Price seconded the motion, which carried <br />unanim~sly. <br /> <br />LIQUOR LICenSE - 920 NORTH MCKNIGHT <br /> <br />The City Manager said the liquor license request from Central Trading Company, <br />920 North McKnight, to sell wine by the package was tabled to this meeting in <br />order to obtain additional information. The owner's intention is to use three <br />or four shelves in the store to sell several types of cooking wine. Mr. Adams <br /> <br /> <br />
