S~SSTC~ ~505 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY c1'£%( COUNCIL <br /> <br /> October 16, 1989 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City held in the Assem- <br />bly Roc~ of City Hall on Monday, Octoker 16, 1989, Mayor Janet Majerus presid- <br />ed and called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the <br />follow~g members of the Oouncil were present: <br /> <br />Mr. ~ R. Price* <br />Mr. Jose~ L. A~ms, Jr. <br />Mrs. Mary V. Schuman <br /> <br />Mrs. Betty L. Tnc~L~son <br /> <br />Absent: Ccuncilmember l~&~_~t G. Wagner, who was excused. <br /> <br />*Ccuncilmember Price arrived at 7:45 p.m. <br /> <br />Also present was city Manager Frank Ollendorff. <br /> <br />Mr. A~ams moved approval of the Octd~er 2, 1989 minutes as submitted. Mr. <br />Schocmer ~seco~nded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Demolition Bids - 924 Eastqate (#1). ~ne following bids for demolition of a <br />b~ilding at 924 Eastu3ate were received: H~Nphill $4,200; T & L Demolition, <br />$5,400; AAI~O Contractors, $6,890; HelTon Contracting, $9,000; and Roy Gordon <br />C~,~any, $14,841. It was rec~,,L~nded 'that the low bid of He~phill be accepted <br />subject to suhnission of app£~uriate bond and insurance. If H~L~/%ill is un- <br />able to meet these requirements, aoceptance of the T & L Demolition bid was <br />rec~[uL~nded, subject to the 'same conditions. <br /> <br />Consideration of Bids for Half-barrier at 7000 Pershinq; Overlay of Swarthmore <br />at Blancha (#2). Bid proposals for th~-~e projects were as follows: <br /> <br />Gateway Contractors, <br />Williams Concrete Contractors, Inc. <br />R. V. Wagner, Inc. <br /> <br />$10,975.00 <br /> 12,547.86 <br /> 15,055.00 <br /> <br />Engineer's estimate <br /> <br />11,110.00 <br /> <br />Aoceptanoe of the 1~ bid of $10,975 from Gateway Contractors was rec~,~,~_nded. <br />Funding is fr~, General Revenue. <br /> <br />Site Plan - 8436 Delmar Boulevard (#3). Approval was rec~,~nded of an amend- <br />ment to the site plan for the Mai Lee Restaurant, 8436 Delmar, to e~pand into <br /> <br /> <br />
