NAYS: Nc~e. <br /> <br />Mr. Schcxmner asked that legislation be prepared that defines "retail" and that <br />it be submitted to the Plan C~,~dssion for review. <br /> <br />Mr. Price called attentio~ to the last /ssue of tb~ Riverfront Times, in which <br />University city was named the area's third most desirable city in which to <br />raise a family. He no*~ this position was an improvement over last year, and <br />suggested that progress being made in University city may place it first next <br /> <br />Mr. Sc_boomer cited the same issue re~arding many outstanding University city <br />businesses which were mentioned in the articles, a number of which are located <br />in the Loop. He also mentioned that Mr. Ollendorff was named the seventh most <br />trustworthy person in St. Louis. Mr.. Ollendorff recalled that three of the <br />top ten are f~, University city. <br /> <br />Mrs. ~h~,~son said that University Ci~.f c~,~L~unity activist Mrs. Beatrice Jones <br />had reoently passed away and would t~.· greatly missed. Mayor Majerus agreed <br />this was a great loss to the c~,;unity. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner reques*~ that the city ~%nager look into drawing up legislation <br />that defines the way fences are built. He said there have been c~plaints <br />about fences built with the unattractive side facing the street, but there are <br />ways to do this where both sides are accepemhly attractiv~e. When the bill is <br />prepared, he asked that the Plan C~m,ission review it and make a recommenda- <br />tion to the Council. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus adjourned the meeting at 8:33 p.m. <br /> <br />Dolores A.
