DIS%/3RBING THE PEACE,' <br />TO (I~-~4 W±'~ THE GUID~.TNES OF THE MISSOURI .~tS~F/4E CfX/RT; CONTAINING A <br />SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A P~ALTY." <br /> <br />bill was assigned No. 7928 and given its first reading. <br /> <br />DEDICATION OF CI]~ENS PLAZ~ <br /> <br />The City Clerk said this resolution approves the dedication of City real es- <br />tats on the south~t corner of Limit and Clemens Avenues as a public park to <br />be known as "Clemens Plaza." <br /> <br />Mr. Price moved approval with Mrs. Schuman seconding the motion. All voted <br />Aye e~ Mr. Schocmer, who voted Nay. <br /> <br />E~DICATION OF WESTGATE PLAZA <br /> <br />The city Clerk said this resolution approves the dedication of City real es- <br />tare on the south~t corner of Clemens and Westgate Avenues as a public park <br />to be known as '~Westgate Plaza." <br /> <br />Mrs. Schu~an moved approval, with Mr. Wagner seconding the motion. Ail voted <br />Aye except Mr. Schoomer, who voted Nay. <br /> <br />Ms. Carolena van den Berk, 23 Washington Terrace, property owner in Parkview <br />Gardens, said there was not enough lighting in the Loop area, and also, there <br />were too many unsupervised children in this area who have frightened off those <br />who might like to live there. She suggested that ~a~tgate be blocked off cc~- <br />pletely to cut down on the traffic which she said paid no attention to traffic <br />regulations anyway. Mayor Majerus agreed it might again be time to consider <br />closing Eastgate. Mr. Schocmer said Union Electric has announced that it will <br />install sodium vapor lights in this area, but did not provide a schedule. He <br />said the unsupervised children should be brought to the attention of the juve- <br />nile authorities. Ms. van den Berk said part of the problem was that too many <br />children were living in apartments that were too small for the number allowed. <br />The Mayor asked her to report any violations to the city Manager Manager. <br /> <br />OC~NCIL (~U~MBER SOUND SYST~ <br /> <br />%1%e City Manager asked for permission to one to the agenda, a sound <br /> item <br />system for the CDuncil chamber.
