A permit is ~a~nted to Agudas Israel of St. Louis, an orthodox Jewish or- <br /> ganization, and if the applicant discontinues as the sole user of the con- <br /> ditional use, the permit is null and void. <br />2. Rlae permit is ~nted for the. use of the space as shown on the drawing <br /> dated 8/10/89 prepared by Alvah M. Levine, P.C. Any enlargement or addi- <br /> tions to the space must be reviewed by the plan C~u~,ission and approved by <br /> the City Council before such enlargement or addition takes place. <br />3. An architectural element of non-combustible material shall be constructed <br /> on the roof to screen the rooftop mechanical equipment, and the storefront <br /> of 8202 Delmar shall have the door replaced with plate glass and store <br /> front material matching the balance of the storefront with appropriate <br /> wil~dow covering such as vertical blinds or other c~mnercial window cover- <br /> ing installed in the entire storefront. The design and materials shall be <br /> subject to the review and approval of the Director of Planning and the <br /> work shall be c~,~leted on or before September 15, 1990. <br />4. None of the basement space in the building sb~ll be used for a retail <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval of the conditional use permit, including all condi- <br />tiol%s. Mrs. Schuman seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />PROP~i'f SAT~ SOLICi~TION <br /> <br />The City Manager said the Real Estate Board of Met~upolitan St. IDuis requests <br />that the Council delete f£~ the University City Municipal Code the prohibi- <br />ti°n against real estate solicitation in any form. He noted that this law was <br />enacted many years ago when the Council found that a number of intolerable <br />practices, such ,as blockbusting, racial steering, a~d redlining were going on. <br />He said the Real Estate Board claims that none of these practices have been <br />used in recent years, and it was no longer necessary for University city to <br />have this regulation in effect. They want the same rights to solicit as other <br /> <br /> <br />
