My mother was passionate about classical music <br />and a devoted follower (and subscriber) of the St. Louis Symphony, so we are <br />pleased to be able to host her event in such a beautiful facility where she spent <br />so many enjoyable moments ... many accompanied by her children and <br />grandchildren. We apologize for the early morning hour of the service, and <br />welcome everyone to join us in remembering our mother ... the event will be <br />open to the public. Thank you to all who have offered such wonderful <br />expressions of concern for our family and memories of our mother”. Council <br />Member Brot is preparing a document for distribution at the February 26 Council <br />meeting in honor of Ms. Wood’s tremendous legacy for University City, the State <br />of Missouri and the Nation. Today’s packet includes an article from the Post <br />Dispatch’s February 10 edition outlining her career. <br /> <br />Big Read Event <br />The University City School hosted by Council Member Brot will <br />be Saturday, February 17 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Centennial Commons. <br />Washington University is hosting a reading, reception and performance this <br />evening starting at 6:30 PM with events running until 10:00 PM.
