~ESSI(2~ 1501 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY ul%~f COUNCIL <br /> <br /> August 14, 1989 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University city held in the Ass~n- <br />bly Room of city Hall on Monday, August 14, 1989, Mayor Janet Majerus presided <br />and called the meetin~ to order at 7:31 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the <br />following ~mhers of the Council were present: <br /> <br />Also present was City Manager Frank Ollemg_orff. <br /> <br />*Mr. Price arrived at 7:34 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Wag~er ~oved adoption of the July 24, 1989 minutes as written. Mr. Adams <br />seconde~____ the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mrs. ~son rec3~ a moment of silence for Cu~gressman Mickey Leland and <br />14 ~ who ware killed recently in a plane ~sh while on a humanitarian <br />mission in Ethiopia. All agreed th/s was a 9z~at loss and terrible tragedy. <br /> <br />Mrs. Sch~m~n moved the appo~rft of Mr. Robert P. Parks, 6934 Waterman, to <br />the Park (la,remission for a term expiring January 21, 1992. Mr. Wag~er seconded <br />the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mrs. ~b~o~ m~ved that Council confirm the election of Lawrence Weygandt as <br />the firefi~hter~, representative on the Police and Firemen's Pension Board for <br />a ter~ er~h~g JLlly 1, 1992. Mr. ~m~s seconded the motion. All voted Aye. <br /> <br />Ms. T~ Msthis, recently reappointed to the _~c~_~ of ~,~lding Code Appeals, <br />was given the oath of office by the. City Clerk. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus thanked MS.
