Mr. Schuman seconded the motion, which carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Ms. Genies Jordan, 7035 M~_l~ose, said she was concerned about several new Sec- <br />tion 8 hc~es that were built on vacant lots in her neighborhood. She asked <br />how ma~y Section 8 houses were in the ~77j_v~ Ward cc~pared to the other wards. <br />Mr. Ollendorff said about 85% of the Section 8 homes were in the Second Ward, <br />10-11% were in the Third Ward, and 4-5% were in the First Ward. He noted that <br />most of the vacant lots in the City are too small to build on. Ms. Jordan <br />wanted to ~ statistics, and Mr. Ollendorff said the Deputy City Manager has <br />a map which designates the blocks (but not exact addresses) on which Section 8 <br />homes are located. He noted that the n~np is updated ead~ fall. <br /> <br />MAYORAL AND OOUNCI~ ~ <br /> <br />Mayor Majeru~ said she had received no replies fro~ c~uncilmembers regarding a <br />citizen's request to d~ange the animal o .rdJ_nance to all~ more than two pets <br />per household, therefore, she assumed counc~ did not wish to make any <br />change. Oouncilmembers did net contest this assumption. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus noted that Council has been approached by the St. Louis Real Es- <br />tate Board to alter the city's law on' real estate solicitation. She urged the <br />Council to read the info~Tnation recently sent to them, since a Board represen- <br />tative plans to attend the next Council meeting to address this matter. Mr. <br />Ollendorff said the Board would like the City to allow mailings, phone calls, <br />and door-to-door solicitation, all of which are now prohibited. Mayor Najerus <br />asked the Council to send their c~t~_nts on this subject to her. <br /> <br />Mr. Price said there has been a great deal of cord?~sion regarding the delivery <br />schedule for trash bags. Mr. Olle_ndorff said Mr. Price's constituents should <br />call the Sanitation Division for information, however, he noted deliveries are <br />scheduled every 13 weeks, or four times a y~ar. <br /> <br />Mr. Price c~,m~nted on the very successful "National Night Out" August 8, in <br />which many neighborhoods participated, incb~ng a new Third Ward block unit. <br />Mrs. Schuman noted that a number of First Ward neighborhoods also participated <br />this year in this excellent endeavor. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus adjourned the meeting at 9:04 p.m. <br /> <br />Dolores A.
