Session 1497, Min~res Page 9 <br />June 5, 1989 <br /> <br />BILL NO. 7920 - ~ THE LEVY AND k:OCING THE RATE OF TAXES TO BE COT.~FCi~O <br />IN UNIVERSITY CATf FOR FISCAL YEAR 1989-90, TO PROVIDE FOR G~X~RAL REVENUE, TO <br />~ FOR A FREE FJBLIC LIBRARY, AND TO PROVIDE FOR A POLICE AND ~'S <br /> <br />A bill was introduced by Ccuncilm~mber Adams, entitled: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE ORDERING THE LEVY AND FIXING THE PATE OF TAXES TO BE <br />IN THE ul'l~ OF UNIVERSi~CY ui'iY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR i989-90, TO PROVIDE FOR <br />G~2~RAL REV~FOE, TO l~qOVI~ FOR THE ESTAB~.T.q%~T AND MAINI'~NCE OF A FREE <br />I~JBLIC LIbrARY, AND TO P~OVIDE FOR A POLICE AND FAR~M~N'S Rb;l'~ FUND." <br /> <br />The bill ~ assigned No. 7920 and given its first r~mding. <br /> <br />Mr. Adams moved that the Council meet in executive session at 8:06 p.m. in <br />Rocm 6 of City Hall, for the purpose of d/scussing legal and real estate mat- <br />t~a~. Mr. Wagner seconded the motion. The roll call vote was as foll~s: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Adams, Wagner, Schuman, Th~son, Price, and Mayor <br />jerus. NAYS: None. ABS~i~T: Councilmember Schoomer. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schuman c~i~limented University City Residential Service for a very f/ne <br />house tour held May 21st, noting there w-us a good selection of homes and an <br />excellent turnout. She tharf~ed those who o~ their ho~_s for this purpose. <br /> <br />Mr. Price said it was gratifying to see a good response from the City's recent <br />efforts to sell ~raca~t, unbu/ldable lots to adjacent homeowners. He also cofa- <br />plimented the staff on its recent quick r~ponses to overgrown vacant lots, <br />where tall grass and weeds were cut by the City.
