Session 1495, Minutes Page 5 <br />May 15, 1989 <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus opened the public hearing at 8:16 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. A1 Wolk, 67 Stoneyside (Olivette), owner of 7805-11 Olive, said he had no <br />objection to the vacation, however, he wanted a statement fi~,.aLL the now owner <br />that there would be no objectio~ to Mr. Wolk's being able to put up forms or <br />whatever was needed in ~a.~e the retaining wall beb_ind his CtamL~-l~Dial property <br /> <br />Ms. June Gold~m~n, 1215 Mt. Olive, said the alley adjoins her property, she has <br />been taking care of and using it for 15 years, and she would like to own it. <br />She had no objection to Mr. Wolk's request, if the alley was vacated to her. <br /> <br />Ms. Loz~ine Yowell, owner of Head ~a~ters, 7843 Olive, said her property ad- <br />joined part of the alley and she, too, wished to see it vacated to adjacent <br />owners who have businesses on the Olive strip so the property may be renovated <br />and utilized for more revenue for the area. <br /> <br />Ms. Augustine Porter, 1220 Eastgver, asked if the vacation would affect her <br />p£u~erty, and it w~s determined that her property did not adjoin the al]_ey. <br />Mr. Ollendorff clarified that the area affected w~s the 15 feet directly north <br />of the retainJ/x3 W-rill. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus declaimed the public hearing closed at 8:26 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Ad,ms requested that a hill be prepared to vacate this alley, including <br />easement rights that will allow an adjacent business owner to repair or reno- <br />vate the retaining wall, as requested by Mr. Wolk. <br /> <br />SI'I'~ PLAN- 8322 OLIVE BC~/~D <br /> <br />The city Manager rec~,~nded approval of the site plan at 8322 Olive for a <br />meeting hall operated by a tax-exe~pt institution, subject to the following <br />conditions: <br /> <br />Group m~etings shall be lira/ted to the hours of 7:30 p.m. to 3 a.m. daily <br />except for Friday when ~he group meeting shall be limited to the hours of <br />12 noon to 3 a.m. the following morning. <br /> <br />At all other hours the premises shall be used as an office with a total <br />oocupancy of no more than five volunteers and staff men,hers at any one <br />time. <br /> <br />MS. Beverly McSkimming, and Mr. Christopher Dain, representing the AA Answer- <br />lng Service, said the w¥odp will abide by the conditions as listed. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoc~er moved approval with beth conditions. Mrs. Th~son seconded the <br />motion. <br /> <br />Mr. Price was concerned about late night meet/rigs. Mt. Ollendorff said it had <br />been stror~31y suggested that no one be allowed to leave late-night or early- <br />morning meetings alone, and he believed the organization had agreed to this. <br />MS. McSkimming confirmed that statement. <br /> <br /> <br />
