Session 1815 <br />June 25, 2001 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION - SUPPORTING THE SCHOOL DISTRICT TAX LEVY: <br /> <br />Ms. Colquitt introduced the resolution, which states the Council's support of the .75 tax <br />levy which school district needs in order to be able to continue to provide quality <br />programming and operations. The Mayor read the resolution. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved adoption. Mr. Sharpe seconded the motion, which carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS: <br /> <br />AGENDA#1-CONSENTCALENDAR: <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner asked to have consent calendar item #3 removed for discussion. The <br />Mayor noted that this item would be dealt with at the end of the City Manager's agenda. <br /> <br />#1 - 2001-2002 Annual Order - Tires: Bids for furnishing tires for the 2001-2002 fiscal <br />year have been received. Invitations to Bid were sent to seven possible sources with <br />the following response: <br /> <br />Dobbs Tire .............................. $23,066.70 <br /> <br />Dobbs has provided competitive pricing on past bids. They were the Iow bidder on 80% <br />of products last fiscal year. Mr. Ollendorff recommends making the award to Dobbs <br />Tire for $23,066.70. <br /> <br />#2 - Heman Park Picnic Licenses: Mr. Ollendorff recommends approval identical to prior <br />years for Arts & Letters Commission to dispense beer between the hours of six and ten <br />p.m. at Starlight Concerts in Heman Park on July 9, 16, 23, 20, and August 6, 13, 20, <br />and 27. This has been a good service for attendees that has not caused any problems <br />in the past. <br /> <br />#3 - 2001-2002Annual Order - Concrete Products: Bids for furnishing concrete <br />products for the 2001-2002 fiscal year have been received. These products include <br />various types of sands and cements for street, park and golf course maintenance <br />projects.
