A bill was introduced by' the entire Council, entitled: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 8.28 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY <br />MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO THE PROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE, BY <br />REPEALING SUBSECTION PM-112.4.2 OF SECTION 8.28.020 THEREOF, <br />RELATING TO CONDITIONAl_ PERMITS, ,AND BY ENACTING IN THEREOF A NEW <br />SUBSECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "PM-112.4.2 CONDITIONAL PERMIT, "THEREBY <br />AMENDING SUBSECTION PM-112.4.2 SC)AS TO SHORTEN FROM NINEY (90) <br />DAYS TO SIXTY (60) DAYS THE PERIOD IN WHICH PREMISES SHOULD BE <br />BROUGHT INTO COMPLIANCE WITH THE CODE UNDER A CONDITIONAL <br />PERMIT; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />The bill was given its first reading and assigned bill number 8566. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer said that everyone is aware that he supports this, but there does seem to <br />be a possible difficulty in finding qualified contractors to bid on these jobs and perform <br />them in a timely manner. He asked the City Manager to provide the Council with an <br />outline as to how we would deal with such a complaint in determining contractor <br />legitimacy and how we would react to it under the terms of this new ordinance. <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel wanted to report that the subdivision plat, bill number 8564 dealing with Gay <br />and Lafon, generated a great deal of opposition from the neighborhood. The proposed <br />buildings will be about one and a half stories tall compared to the one story ranch style <br />homes. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION: <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved to go into executive session at 8:10 p.m. to discuss real estate <br />matters per RSMO 610.021 (2). Ms. Colquitt seconded the motion. The meeting will be <br />held in the Mayor's office of City Hall. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Ms. <br />Colquitt, Mr. Munkel, Mr. Wagner, Mr. Schoomer, and Mayor Adams.
