February 26, 2007
Bill 8929 passed and became Ordinance 6685.

NEW BUSINESS

BILLS FOR INTRODUCTION
1. Introduced by Mr. Wagner
BILL 8930
— AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY,
MISSOURI APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH AT&T MISSOURI FOR
THE PROVISION OF VIDEO SERVICES IN THE CITY.

CITIZEN COMMENTS ON NON-AGENDA ITEMS
Richard Dockett, 6844 Crest Ave.
Mr. Dockett thanked all who participated in the Northwest Neighborhood Association
meeting.

Elsie Glickert, 6712 Etzel
Ms. Glickert passed out a copy of the petition with over 100 signatures from the Prop K
commission requesting the Park’s Director office be located in Centennial Commons, not
at the City Hall.

COUNCIL COMMENTS
Ms. Ricci thanked Ms. Brot for the resolution on Harriet Woods. She quoted a saying of
Harriet Woods, “You can stand up without standing on someone and you can be a victor
without being a victim.”

Ms. Brot followed up on Ms. Glickert’s comments that the Park’s Director would best
serve its position by being located at the Centennial Commons. She thanked Ms. Feier
for supplying them with work space in the City Hall and knew this Council would be losing
their present location that the move of the Park’s Director would free up some needed
space. Ms. Brot informed City Manager that including “Age To Perfection” in City Scape
would be great. She thought that the City Manager changing the loan program for home
improvements and for tree trimming into a grant program for senior citizens was very
good and needs to be publicized.

Mr. Glickert said that the Chief of Police is at the Police Department, the Fire Chief is at
the Fire Department and he felt the Park’s Director should be at the recreation center.
Mr. Glickert also was concerned over the possibility of Midland being changed into a four
lane thorough-fare making it very dangerous for the children in area. City Manager has
requested from the County a counting of people crossing at each intersection along
Midland.

Mr. Sharpe, Jr., asked the City Manager to present to the Council the pros and cons of
the Park’s Director’s office location.
9
