Take legal action. Unfortunately, the Court’s docket has not opened up to
allow for the consideration of the appeal filed by the Fire Union.

3. Take internal action, which would affect the hours or rate of pay of our
employees in order to not exceed their current rate of pay. This would be a
tremendous disappointment to our Fire and Police staff and something I have
been putting off in hopes for a legal or legislative remedy.

Maplewood is coming out with a proposal to do just that next week. City Staff
will review the proposal as a starting point for conversation next week. The Fire
Union has provided an agreement for my consideration asking that we hold off on
any alteration because they believe they want to keep the schedules as they are
and realize the overtime implications for us were not the intent of the law. There
are a number of issues with their proposal that does not establish this as a viable
solution. However, they have been lobbying hard in Jefferson City and we will
continue to work with the Union as we strive for a solution.

I-170
MODOT approved the attached proposal to close Ramp 2 and Ramp 4 at
Olive to traffic by April 30. This will accelerate the construction schedule and

allow for the re-opening of Ramp 2 Saturday, June 9. I haveincluded an update
I-64 mitigation
provided by the County addressing the plans. In the next month,
they plan to alter the intersection at Balson and Midland to allow for safer
pedestrian crossing. You will also note that they intend to lift the truck traffic
restriction on Forest Park Parkway on May 1. The removal of the prohibition will
be triggered by the closure of Kingshighway. The truck prohibition will return
when the construction is complete in roughly two years. The City has clearly
voiced our disagreement with the decision of the County to allow trucks on the
Parkway. However, the parkway is within County jurisdiction and their decision is
based on regional needs to have access to Clayton, St. Louis, and BJC.

street
In response to concerns raised by residents regarding the disruption of
traffic by teenage residents
, the Police Department has developed a plan to
address the issue in the following manner:
