As a key component of the visionary River Ring system of linear parks and trails, the Centennial Greenway will link the City of St. Louis with St. Charles and St. Louis Counties with <br />a 14-mile trail and necklace of interconnected parks from Forest Park to Creve Coeur Park. The Centennial Greenway will pass through nine municipalities, connect the people of St. <br />Louis City, University City, Clayton, Ladue, Olivette, Creve Coeur, Maryland Heights, Overland and St. Louis County with parks, trails, community, commercial, and cultural resources <br />within each community while offering economic, recreation, and social benefits. The Centennial Greenway will create new ways to experience the metropolitan area and a safe and interesting <br />means of accessing The Centennial Greenway study area began with a focus on six communities and Unincorporated St. Louis County located between Forest Park and Creve Coeur County Park. <br /> As the potential route emerged, additional communities and entities became part of the study. The Centennial Greenway will be the principle east-west regional greenway in the metropolitan <br />area and a central spine of The River Ring. By linking with the Creve Coeur Park trail system and the proposed Chouteau Greenway, it will connect the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers <br />that, when linked with the Katy Trail, will become a component of a unique Unlike most other greenways in The River Ring system, the Centennial Greenway has no existing natural or open <br />space corridor that would serve as a guide to establishing an alignment. However, the historically significant ridgeline connection, roughly following Olive Boulevard, between the City <br />of St. Louis and the Missouri River valley can serve as a guide to the Centennial The Centennial Greenway will connect people with nature and the city. It is a vital link between the <br />Missouri River valley and the Mississippi River systems. The great opportunity is in creating a place in which people living in these communities can get Along the way, The Centennial <br />will connect the communities of St. Louis City, University City, Clayton, Ladue, Olivette, Creve Coeur, Maryland Heights, Overland and St. Louis County with each other. Connections <br />will allow people to commute, exercise and explore beyond the boundaries of their own city and neighborhood.
