The Centennial Greenway has developed through a comprehensive three phase process; Analysis, Conceptual Planning and the The project began in late 2004 with an analysis of opportunities <br />and benefits, and a physical analysis of existing conditions in the study area. Specific land uses were examined, with a focus on places to be linked by the Centennial Greenway and <br />included; public open spaces, cultural facilities, schools, and retail and entertainment centers. Other undeveloped lands were also identified as potential corridors, or areas that <br />could contribute to the open space of the Centennial Greenway as parks or The Conceptual Plan determined the potential and preferred alignment for the Centennial Greenway. Alternatives <br />were identified based upon field study, the analysis process and input from the community during a series of public forums conducted in various locations throughout the study area. <br />The options were further examined with the input of the project Technical and Citizen Advisory Committees. Throughout the process, discussions were conducted with landowners and stakeholders <br />to <br />natural areas, as well as contribute to the ecological improvement of rivers, streams and wildlife corridors. <br />The final alignment was again tested with the Advisory Committees and with the citizens of the St. Louis Metropolitan area at a public forum held at the Clayton Community Center in December <br />of 2005.
