West of I-170, the Centennial Greenway will continue to follow Olive Boulevard and access an unused rail corridor that extends to the northwest from Price Road. The rail corridor offers
the opportunity to develop a linear park with a variety of experiences
and open space character. The City of Olivette is seeking to acquire the rail corridor.
At the north end of the Dielman Industrial Park, the rail corridor passes an undeveloped parcel of land that borders a branch of the River des Peres. Acquisition of this parcel of land
offers an excellent opportunity to expand Indian Meadows Park to the east and improve the quality of the river edge. The area should explore the potential to terrace the river edge
to create a broader river channel with potential for increased meander and a native riparian edge. Upland area could be developed as a passive recreation park with a sculpted turf landscape
seating areas and passive play areas. At Dielman Road, a new crossing should be developed, or if feasible, a pedestrian bridge
should be connected.
