Session 1821 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />October 8, 2001 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City held in the Council Chambers <br />of City Hall on Monday, October 8, 2001, Mayor Joseph L. Adams called the meeting to <br />order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the following members of the Council were <br />present: <br /> Ms. Cassandra Colquitt <br /> Mr. Wayne Munkel <br /> Mr. Larry Lieberman <br /> Mr. Paul Schoorner <br /> Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />EXCUSED: Mr. Robert Wagner and City Manager Frank Ollendorff. Also present was <br />Assistant City Manager Julie Szymula. <br /> <br />MINUTES: <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe moved approval of the September 19, 2001 regular session minutes. Mr. <br />Lieberman seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENT: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams moved the appointment of Janet Wilding, 7375 Wellington Ave., to the <br />Industrial Development Authority for a term ending August 27, 2006. Mr. Schoomer <br />seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />FIRE PERSONNEL OATH OF OFFICE: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams noted that the Fire Department would be promoting four of its personnel <br />this evening and asked Chief Metcalf to come up and introduce them. <br /> <br />Chief Metcalf introduced Brian Bremer who would be sworn in as Battalion Chief, Don <br />Miner who would be sworn in as Battalion Chief, David Crismon who would be sworn in <br />as Captain and Christian Fowler who would be sworn in as Captain. <br /> <br />Chief Metcalf said that there is eighty years, of service represented by all of four of these <br />officers combined and he is sure that they also represent the future and leadership of <br />the department. Each one of them represents excellent values and service. Wives and <br />family members were asked to come up with the officers during the presentation of <br />badges and administration of the oaths. <br /> <br />The City Clerk administered the oath of office. <br /> <br /> <br />
