RESOLUTION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, public recognition of University City's excellence is reflected in dramatic <br />property value increases in recent years; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, these property value increases have, by law, required assessed value <br />adjustments; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, low income residents may face financial hardship as a result; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, all citizens should be able,, to maintain a high level of trust in the equity of <br />property tax administration. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the University City Council supports the <br />St. Louis County Executive and County Council action to review the procedures of the County <br />Assessors Office to assure residents that these vital, difficult and sensitive computations are <br />completed in accordance with State law and accepted property assessment standards. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that any eligible citizen believing their property to be <br />assessed more than its market value is encouraged to file an appeal. <br /> <br /> BE IT ADDITIONALLY RESOLVED, that St. Louis County and University City <br />administrative officials be requested to provide full information and assistance to eligible citizens <br />desirous of filing appeals. <br /> <br /> APPROVED: <br /> <br />k, ff City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
