Session 1829 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />January 7,2002 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City held in the Council Chambers <br />of City Hall on Monday, January 7, 2002, Mayor Joseph L. Adams called the meeting to <br />order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the following members of the Council were <br />present: <br /> Ms. Cassandra Colquitt <br /> Mr. Wayne Munkel <br /> Mr. Robert Wagner <br /> Mr. Larry Lieberman <br /> Mr. Paul Schoomer <br /> Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />Also present was City Manager Frank Ollendorff. <br /> <br />MINUTES: <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval of the December 17, 2001 regular session minutes. Mr. <br />Sharpe seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />CONFIRMATION OF APPOINTMENT: <br /> <br />Mr. Lieberman said that the ordinance founding the Committee for Access and Local <br />Origination Programming requires that the cable company that the City franchises with, <br />in this case, Charter Communications appoints a couple of its employees to serve on its <br />commission. One is voting and the other is a non-voting member. There is word from <br />Charter Communication that they have selected David Rowley to be their non-voting <br />liaison member to CALOP for an indefinite term. <br /> <br />Mr. Lieberman moved approval of Mr. Rowley's appointment to CALOP. Mr. Wagner <br />seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS: <br /> <br />AGENDA #1 - CONSENT CALENDAR: <br /> <br />#1- Three Refuse Vehicles: Bids were received for the purchase of three refuse <br />vehicles for the Sanitation Division. A trade-in allowance was requested for four fully- <br />depreciated trucks. Invitations were sent to six area dealers with the following results: <br /> <br />Company <br />Downing Sales & Service <br />Downing Sales -Altemate Bid <br /> <br />New Truck Trade In Total <br />$410,539.47 $37,500 $373,039.47 <br />$483,956.10 $37,500 $446,456.10 <br /> <br /> <br />
