Session 1835 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />March 18, 2002 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City held in the Council Chambers <br />of City Hall on Monday, March 4, 2002, Mayor Joseph L. Adams called the meeting to <br />order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the following members of the Council were <br />present: <br /> Ms. Cassandra Colquitt <br /> Mr. Wayne Munkel <br /> Mr. Robert Wagner <br /> Mr. Larry Lieberman <br /> Mr. Paul Schoomer <br /> Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />Also present was City Manager Frank Ollendorff. <br /> <br />MINUTES: <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval of the March 4, 2002 regular session minutes. Ms. <br />Colquitt seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />PROCLAMATION - ARBOR DAY: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams read a proclamation designating April 6'" as Arbor Day and recognizing <br />the City's status as a Tree City USA. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved approval. Mr. Sharpe seconded the motion, which carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams noted that University City's own Wynton Marsalis, consummate jazz <br />musician, was at the University City Senior High School last Friday to promote his jazz <br />music course at the school's Lincoln Center Jazz Program. The students and Wynton <br />jammed together and traded music tips and had an overall good time. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer noted that on Sunday, March 24th at 3:00 p.m. the Center of <br />Contemporary Arts (COCA) will be hosting our own University City Symphony Orchestra <br />who will perform. Concerts are free to the public. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams announced that tomorrow night, 7:00 p.m., at the Community Center, the <br />Women's League of Voters would be hosting a Candidate's Forum for the City <br />Councilmembers and School Board candidates. <br /> <br /> <br />
