Session 1834
March 18, 2002

Mr. Wagner feels that if we don't ask for something specific now, East West Gateway will
target in on the cheapest option. He feels that the best thing to do is ask for exactly what
we want - fixed track - right off the bat.

Mr. Lieberman reported that, in light of the election, he had been hearing criticism that the
City does not take enough creative risks in bringing about changes and improvements that
would be good for our commulnity, and he tends to agree with that assessment as well. He
also thinks that the Council should approve the more riskier, specific resolution supporting
a fixed track system.

Mr. Sharpe agrees that we should go for the fixed track system.

Mr. Munkel reminded everyone that we had our hands in the transportation pot of funds
with the Olive trail projects. Mayor Adams explained that it actually comes from two
different funds.

Mayor Adams said that it had been made clear to everyone involved with this project that
University City would not pledge any funds to this project.

Mayor Adams said that the sense of the Council is to introduce the fixed track system
resolution at the meeting this evening.

Mayor Adams adjourned the meeting at 6:45 p.mI_~ ~ /~ ~ .
Y~ ~nda Luckett, City Cl
