CITY CLERK'S DOCKET: BILLS FOR SECOND AND THIRD READING: BILL 8590 - AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF UNIVERSITY CITY ON BEHALF OF THE CITY TO ACCEPT PUBLIC USE INCLUDING REDEVELOPMENT, REAL PROPERTY IDENTIFIED AS LOCATOR #18H421301, HELD IN TRUST BY THE TRUSTEE OF ST. LOUIS COUNTY, FOR A RECORDING FEE OF $23.00. The bill was given its second reading. The bill was given its third reading. Mr. Wagner moved adoption. Mr. Munkel seconded the motion. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Ms. Colquitt, Mr. Munkel, Mr. Wagner, Mr. Lieberman, Ms. Welsch, Mr. Sharpe and Mayor Adams. NAYS: none. Bill number 8590 passed and became Ordinance 6362. BILLS FOR INTRODUCTION: Mr. Wagner moved to add a bill to the City Clerk's docket. Mr. Munkel seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. 1. A bill was introduced by Mr. Wagner, entitled: AMENDING CHAPTER 15.04 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO THE BUILDING CODE, BY REPEALING SUBSECTION 1010.3 THEREOF, RELATING TO BUILDINGS WITH ONE EXIT, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEROF TWO NEW SUBSECTIONS TO BE KNOWN AS "1010.3 BUILDINGS WITH ONE EXIT" AND "1010.3.1 BUILDINGS WITH TWO EXITS;" THEREBY AMENDING THE BUILDING CODE SO AS TO REQUIRE CERTAIN BUILDINGS IN USE GROUPS R-2 AND R-3 TO HAVE TWO EXITS; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. The bill was assigned #8591 and given its first reading. Elsie Glickert, 6712 Etzel, wished to caution the Council not to move to quickly on this bill. A two family dwelling needs a second way out. She urges the Council to attempt to make the bill perfect and cover all the bases before passing it. 14
