<br />The Commission would like to express their appreciation to the University City
<br />School District, University City Library and Centennial Commons for the use of
<br />their space for the Town Hall Forums.
<br />
<br />The Commission notified the public of the Town Hall Forums through post cards,
<br />notices on city’s bulletin boards, website, CityScape, UCTV channel 10, and
<br />letters to neighborhood leaders.
<br />
<br />At the Town Hall Forums, the Commission provided the participants with
<br />information and then divided the participants into smaller focus groups with
<br />Commission Member led discussions. At the conclusion of the small focus
<br />groups, a group member from each group reported their groups finding to the
<br />entire forum.

<br />Charge to the Commission
<br />
<br />The Commission was charged to develop a vision that captures the essence of
<br />the City and uses it to inform and shape its future. On March 15, 2006, the
<br />Mayor established the Second Century Commission. By ordinance no. 6630, the
<br />Commission was charged to study and make recommendations to assist the City
<br />Council for future strategic planning:
<br />
<br />1) On the delivery of City services;
<br />2) University City’s approach to commercial and residential development;
<br />and
<br />3) To envision without limits.
