RESOLUTION 2007 - 10 Resolution on Operation of Proposed Ruth Park Golf Course Learning Center WHEREAS, the Ruth Park Golf Course has been increasingly in an operating deficit in recent years, and, WHEREAS, the development of the proposed Learning Center is projected to eliminate the deficit operation of the Golf Course, thus assuring its continuation as a prized University City recreational facility, and, WHEREAS, the operation has previously been run as a private enterprise, with much of the revenues directed to the private operator, and, WHEREAS, the proposed Learning Center is considered by some residents as intrusive to adjacent residential neighborhoods, now THEREFORE, the City Council of University City establishes their desire that the administration of the Ruth Park Golf Course shall become an administrative element of the Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Division, and responsible in fiscal reporting to the City Manager and Director of Finance, and now THEREFORE, all revenues realized by the Golf Course and Training Center shall flow to the General Fund of University City, and now THEREFORE, the operation of the Learning Center shall comply with the desire of the Council that the last supply of balls shall be sold no later than 9:00 PM and the range lights shall be turned off by 9:30 PM.
