<br />RESOLUTION 2007 - 12 <br /> <br />The University City Council’s Endorsement of <br /> <br />Grant Application for the Sutter-Meyer Farmhouse <br /> <br /> <br /> The City Council of the City of University City has been advised of the Sutter-Meyer <br />Society’s application for a grant for the Sutter-Meyer farmhouse from the Missouri <br />Department of Natural Resources/State Historic Preservation Office. <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the Sutter-Meyer Society has received permission from the City Council <br />of University City to work to restore, preserve, and maintain the Sutter-Meyer farmhouse, <br />University City’s oldest standing house; and <br />WHEREAS, <br /> theCity Council has urged the Board of Directors of the Sutter-Meyer <br />Society to search for funds to finance their goals; and <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the Sutter-Meyer Society has learned from the University City Department <br />of Community Development of the availability of a grant from the Missouri Department of <br />Natural Resources for strategic planning and community outreach activities; and <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the Sutter-Meyer Society has completed an application for those funds to <br />use on the Sutter-Meyer farmhouse project; therefore <br />BE IT RESOLVED, <br /> that the City Council of University City endorses the Sutter-Meyer <br />Society’s application for a strategic planning and outreach grant from the Missouri <br />Department of Natural Resources/State Historic Preservation Office, and urges the state <br />to approve this grant which will help the Sutter-Meyer Society move forward in its efforts to <br />protect the Sutter-Meyer farmhouse for the people living in University City now and in the <br />future. <br /> Adopted this day of September, 2007. <br /> <br /> _________________________ <br /> Joseph Adams <br /> Mayor <br />Attest: <br /> <br />_________________________________ <br />Joyce Pumm, City Clerk <br />K-1-o <br />September 24, 2007 <br /> <br />
