Verizon and the <br />municipal attorneys agreed that Verizon would pay two years back taxes and attorneys <br />fees. Each city may provide a percentage of their back taxes to the MML or the St. Louis <br />County Municipal League. The ordinance attached would attribute an unspecified <br />percentage to the St. Louis County Municipal League (Section 3). The League has <br />requested a 5% payment of the back taxes which would equate to $20,833 and reduce our <br />settlement amount to $395, 834. Council will need to discuss and amend the ordinance to <br />insert the percentage you feel appropriate. The eighty-two page settlement agreement is <br /> <br />available in the City Clerk’s Office. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approval. <br /> <br />K-2-a <br />October 1, 2007 <br /> <br />
