<br /> <br />MINUTES OF UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />September 24, 2007 <br /> <br />At the Regular Session of the City Council of University City held in the Chambers of the <br />City Hall, on Monday, September 24, 2007, Mayor Adams called the meeting to order at <br />6:30 p.m. In addition to Mayor Adams, the following members of the Council were present: <br /> Mr. Byron Price <br /> Ms. Lynn Ricci <br /> Mr. Robert Wagner <br /> Mr. Michael Glickert <br /> Ms. Stefany Brot <br /> Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br />Also in attendance were City Manager Julie Feier, Director of Public Works Evelyn Benford- <br />Shields, Director of Human Resources Yolanda Williams, Director of Community <br />Development Lehman Walker and Deputy City Manger Janet Watson. <br /> <br />Absent was University City High School liaison, Ms. Rachel Watson. <br /> <br />D. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />September 4, 2007, regular session minutes, as amended, were moved for approval by <br />Ms. Ricci, seconded by Mr. Sharpe, Jr. and were approved unanimously. <br /> <br />September 4, 2007, study session minutes were moved for approval by Mr. Price, <br />seconded by Mr. Glickert and were approved unanimously. <br /> <br />E. CONSENT AGENDA <br />The Strategic Planning, Green Center Lease amendments was pulled from the Consent <br />Calendar at the request of the City Manager Julie Feier, for additions. <br /> <br />The consent calendar consisted of renewal of contract for ATM machine at the Parking <br />Garage, the annual salt contract, the annual order for B5 Bio Diesel Fuel, the annual leaf <br />vacuuming contract. The ATM contract was with Commerce Bank for five year period <br />with a base rent of $12,150. The City participates in a salt coop of 40 local municipalities <br />for purchasing salt for the winter. Unit price per ton is approximately $27 a ton with an <br />estimate of 1,000 ton usage, for a total cost of $27,030. The City of University City, in an <br />effort to protect the environment, reduce air pollution, and invest in domestic renewable <br />fuels, will switch to B5 Bio Diesel fuel. The bid was awarded to the lowest bidder, <br />Petroleum Traders, for a total price of $295,780. During heavy leaf fall in the autumn, <br />leaf sweeping is contracted out to supplement the City’s own collection. It was <br />recommended to split the $66,000 contract between two companies, Complete Curbside <br />Leaf Removal Service and Hendel Lawn Care Service. <br /> <br /> <br />
