INTRODUCED BY: Councilmember Carr DATE: August 8, 2016 <br /> BILL NO. 9291 ORDINANCE NO. 7017 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE <br /> AN AGREEMENT WITH THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER <br /> DISTRICT (MSD) FOR REIMBURSMENT OF THE COST OF A FEDERAL <br /> CORPS OF ENGINEERS FLOODING REDUCTION STUDY FOR THE UPPER <br /> RIVER DES PERES AREA. <br /> WHEREAS, the City of University City wishes to enter into an agreement for <br /> reimbursement with MSD for the City's costs to complete the Corps of Engineers federal <br /> flooding reduction study; and <br /> WHEREAS, MSD recognizes the public benefit of a federal flooding reduction project in the <br /> area and agrees to provide financial assistance; and <br /> WHEREAS, MSD will reimburse the City an amount not to exceed $650,000 for the <br /> cost of the study; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Council has determined that the completion of the federal flooding <br /> reduction study is a necessary prerequisite to a federal flooding reduction project in the area. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute the Agreement with MSD <br /> for reimbursement for the federal flooding reduction study of the Upper River Des Peres area, the <br /> terms and conditions of which are set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by <br /> reference. <br /> Section 2.
