INTRODUCED BY: Councilmember Glickert <br /> DATE: October 10, 2016 <br /> BILL NO. 9295 ORDINANCE NO. 7021 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2.52 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY <br /> MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO THE COMMITTEE FOR ACCESS AND <br /> LOCAL ORIGINATION PROGRAMMING, BY REPEALING SECTION <br /> 2.52.050 THEREOF, RELATING TO MEMBERSHIP AND APPOINTMENT, <br /> AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS <br /> "SECTION 2.52.050 MEMBERSHIP AND APPOINTMENT," THEREBY <br /> AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO REMOVE CHARTER <br /> COMMUNICATIONS; REFERRED TO AS "THE COMPANY". <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, <br /> MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. Chapter 2.52 of the University City Municipal Code, relating to the <br /> Committee for Access and Local Origination Programming, is hereby amended by repealing <br /> Section 2.52.050 thereof, relating to membershipand appointment, ngp a <br /> n lieu thereof a <br /> new section to be known as "Section 2.52.050 Membership and appointment,"thereby amending <br /> said section so as to remove Charter Communications; so that said section, as so amended, shall <br /> read as follows: <br /> 2.52.050 Membership and appointment. <br /> CALOP shall consist of seven voting members, appointed by the city council, who shall each <br /> serve a three-year term. The remainder of the members shall be selected by the city council upon <br /> the recommendation by either members of the city council, city staff or any resident citizen of <br /> the city. In addition to the seven voting members of CALOP there shall be three nonvotingex <br /> officio members: one will be a member of the city council; one will be appointed by the <br /> University City School District; and one will be appointed by the Higher Education Consortium <br /> of Metropolitan St. Louis. Ex officio members shall receive all minutes of all meetings of <br /> CALOP, and may submit written reports and recommendations. Ex officio members may <br /> comment during any public discussion segment of any meeting. <br /> Section 2. This ordinance shall not be construed so as to relief any person, firm or <br /> corporation from any penalty heretofore incurred by the violation of Chapter 2.52, Section <br /> 2.52.050, nor bar the prosecution for any such violation. <br /> Section 3. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this <br /> ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to the penalty provided in Chapter 1.12, <br /> Section 1.12.010 of the University City Municipal Code. <br /> Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage <br /> as provided by law. g <br /> PASSED this 24th day of October, 2016. <br />
