APPENDIX A <br />Section 120.020. City Plan Commission. <br /> <br /> <br />The City Plan Commission is responsible for overseeing the master plan of the City <br />and recommending changes to the plan. It also acts as the Zoning Commission. The <br />Commission has seven (7) members who must have been residents for at least two (2) <br />years and are qualified by knowledge and experience to act on questions pertaining to <br />the City's development and administration of zoning laws. The term of office is three (3) <br />years. Ex officio non-voting members include a City Councilmember, the City Manager, <br />Director of Planning and the Zoning Administrator. For more information, see Article <br />IV of this Chapter. <br /> <br />ARTICLE IV <br />City Plan Commission <br /> <br /> <br />Section 120.270. Established Purpose. <br /> <br /> <br />In order to make adequate provision for and to stimulate, guide, direct, arrange and <br />beautify the City and the future development and growth of the City, there shall be a <br />commission known as the City Plan Commission. Membership, officers, powers, duties, <br />responsibilities and rules shall be as provided in the Charter, this Chapter and the Zoning <br />Code. <br /> <br />Section 120.280. Powers and Duties Generally. <br /> <br /> <br />The City Plan Commission shall have the duty and authority to prepare and submit <br />to the Council a master plan for the physical development of the City, including the <br />general location, character and extent of streets, bridges, parks, waterways, and other <br />public ways, grounds and spaces, together with the general location and arrangement of <br />public buildings, other public property, public utilities, and the extent and location of <br />any public housing or slum clearance project, and shall recommend such modifications <br />of such plan, from time to time, as it deems to be in the City's interest. It shall act as the <br />Zoning Commission, and shall have the authority to prepare, adopt and recommend to <br />the Council for enactment a Comprehensive Plan for the zoning of the City, with such <br />regulations as to the location, height, width and bulk of buildings and other structures, <br />and the size of the yards, courts and other open spaces surrounding the same, and the use <br />of such buildings, structures and land as it shall determine to be necessary or desirable <br />for the promotion of the health, safety, morals and general welfare of the inhabitants <br />of the City, and may recommend changes or amendments therein from time to time as <br />may seem desirable. It shall consider all proposals for amendments or changes in the <br />zoning law, and make its recommendations thereon to the Council. Plans for all proposed <br />subdivisions shall, before approval by the Council, be submitted to the Plan Commission <br />for its recommendations with respect thereto. <br /> <br />Section 120.290. Duty To Prepare and Recommend Legislation. <br /> <br /> <br />It shall also be the duty of the City Plan Commission to prepare and recommend <br />such national, State and municipal legislation as may be necessary in carrying out the <br />recommendations or suggestions of the Commission. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br /> <br />
