Proposal to Widen the Pedestrian Ramp to the
Forest Park Parkway Bridge

Submitted by Washington University in St. Louis
July 25, 2016
Introduction

The pedestrian and bicycle bridge over Forest Park Parkway and MetroLink is an important link in the
Great Rivers Greenway (GRG) system. The GRG Master Plan connects downtown St. Louis with Forest
Park, University City, Creve Coeur Lake Park, Chesterfield, and to the Katy Trail in St. Charles. The
bridge over Forest Park Parkway ties the Centennial Greenway to the Delmar Loop through
Washington University and into Forest Park. Four unique greenways intersect at Forest Park making
this bridge an important connection in the overall network.
