The Fire Chief, as Director of Emergency Response, made
the decision to keep the City active in CERT in the North County CERT coalition. They
have had tremendous success and participation since their inception. We contacted
North County CERT
them immediately, and November 12 the coalition welcomed
University City, Olivette, and Mid-County Fire District as new members of their group.
The North County CERT program has assured the Fire Chief that University City
residents are welcome at any CERT activity. There are no fees associated with
belonging to the North County CERT due to their success with grant administration.
They also advised us that in the next year they have two CERT programs scheduled
and a major disaster drill planned for all current and new CERT members.
