The Fire Chief, as Director of Emergency Response, made
the decision to keep the City active in CERT in the North County CERT coalition. They
have had tremendous success and participation since their inception. We contacted
North County CERT
them immediately, and November 12 the coalition welcomed
University City, Olivette, and Mid-County Fire District as new members of their group.
The North County CERT program has assured the Fire Chief that University City
residents are welcome at any CERT activity. There are no fees associated with
belonging to the North County CERT due to their success with grant administration.
They also advised us that in the next year they have two CERT programs scheduled
and a major disaster drill planned for all current and new CERT members. The schedule
for 2008 will be available for distribution in January.

I-170: The project is right on track to be completed by the end of December!
?
Nov. 26 (evening) - crews will split traffic on I-170.
?
Dec. 7 - Ribbon cutting event, @ 10:30 AM on the south side of Olive Blvd.

between the Office Max entrance and the ramp from Olive Blvd. to
southbound I-170.
?
Dec. 8 (end of day) - Traffic will move to its final configuration on I-170 – three
lanes in each direction –
?
Dec. 22 (end of the day) - all traffic lanes on I-170, the ramps and Olive Blvd. are
scheduled to be opened.

Upcoming Meetings and Events:
Tuesday, Nov. 27: 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM, Civics 101: Public Presentation on
Planning and Development by Community Development
Department Director Lehman Walker and Planning Staff-
EOC Room.
Monday, Dec. 3: 5:30 PM Study Session, Parking Assessment
Monday, Dec. 3: 6:30 PM Council Meeting
Friday, Dec. 7: 10:30 AM I-170/Olive Blvd. Ribbon Cutting
Monday, Dec. 10: 6:30 PM Joint Session of School Board and City Council,
District Board Room
Tuesday, January 15: 5:30 PM Conflict of Interest Study Session
