<br />9. BILL 8968 <br />— Introduced by Mr. Glickert. An ordinance amending Chapter 2.62 of <br />the University City Municipal Code relating to the Police and Firefighter’s Retirement <br />system, by repealing Section 2.62.051 thereof, relating to investment accounts, and <br />enacting in lieu thereof a new section to be known as “Section 2.62.051 Investment <br />Accounts,” thereby amending said section so as to clarify the method of computing <br />credits to an employee’s investment account. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />L. CITIZENS’ COMMENTS <br /> <br /> <br />M. COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Mr. Price thanked Ms. MacCartney and her staff for re-instituting the youth basketball <br />th <br />from K through 8 grade. He would like for staff to check into why there was a lack of <br />girls signing up. <br /> <br />Ms. Brot congratulated Janet Watson, Deputy Director/Finance Officer and Julie Feier, <br />City Manager for receiving their ten year award as members of the International City <br />Manager Association. She would like to remind councilmemebers that commission <br />appointments will be changing soon and the need to turn the appointments into the City <br />Clerk, as the Boards and Commissions are an important segment of University City’s <br />government. Ms. Brot complemented University Heights 3 for their letter to Ameren UE, <br />highlighting the twenty separate power outages that they have experienced. She asked <br />the City Manager to reaffirm to Mr. Rainwater that University City would like this situation <br />remedied. She wanted to remind everyone of the Holiday Walk in the Loop on <br />December 1 and invited all to visit the trolley which will be open from 11:00 to 2:00. <br /> <br />Mr. Glickert congratulated Deputy City Manager Watson and City Manager Feier also on <br />behalf of the Council for their ten year recognition. <br /> <br />Ms. Ricci asked the City Clerk to investigate process that would be needed to have all <br />Councilmembers’ microphones live. Ms. Ricci motioned to charge Ms. Pumm to inquire <br />into the cost to reconfigure Council’s microphone system so that they are open at all <br />times and further that Council will give it a try. This motion was seconded by Mr. <br />Glickert. Mr. Sharpe, Jr. asked to make sure the microphones could be cut off if <br />necessary, if they were all live. Mayor Adams asked where it would be expensed in the <br />budget. The motion was approved with three Nays from Mr. Sharpe Jr., Mr. Price and <br />Mayor Adams. Mayor Adams also requested the possibility of getting an extra <br />microphone. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe, Jr. moved to recommend to the Arts & Letters Commission, that all <br />University City calendars photo shots in some way relate only to University City for all <br />future calendars. This motion was seconded by Ms. Ricci and was approved <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams gave the following dates of future events and meetings: <br /> <br />Meeting was adjourned at 7:50 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />
