To: Honorable Mayor Adams and City Council
From: Julie Feier, City Manager
Date: February 5, 2008
Subject: City Manager’s Report
1. WU is offering to allow the City to meter and enforce parking on their lot at
Lindell and Forsyth. The attached agreement would establish the parameters for
the relationship for five years. If Council agrees, I would like Council’s
authorization to sign the multi-year agreement.
2. Timeless Authentic Garments “TAG” is requesting a Conditional Use
Permit at 6314 Delmar. The Community Development Staff recommends
approval. The staff report and background are attached.
3. In your last weekly, I provided a memorandum from Ms. Eastman
regarding a structure for City input and communication with the School District
and a proposed agenda for a follow up meeting. The intent of this proposal is to
have our liaison commit to maintaining a level of knowledge and understanding
of public school education, and act as Council’s conduit to and from the School
Board. The liaison can help Council understand issues facing the District and
decipher the complex information the public receives. We believe it will provide a
more meaningful interaction between our two entities and can substantially assist
the District in reaching out beyond parents and children in the District. It will give
a voice to citizens/taxpayers that have been largely disconnected from the
School District, but who are affected by the quality of the education in the District.
Because we have time on our agenda tonight, do you have any feedback on her
proposal, or alternative next steps to propose?
Attachments:
WU Parking Agreement
Conditional Use Permit Assessment for “TAG”
