Session 1867 <br />January 27, 2003 <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM # 1 - CONSENT CALENDAR: <br /> <br />1) Kings/and Avenue bridge inspection and testing contract: Mr. Ollendorff <br />recommended that Council approve an addition to the engineering contract with <br />Modjeski and Masters for the Kingsland Avenue Bridge. While there is a <br />$955,000 grant for this project, he informed Council that an additional amount <br />$44,000 (which exceeds the amount of the original grant) will be needed to cover <br />the costs for the material testing and inspection due to begin within the following <br />couple of weeks. <br /> <br />2) Carpet and tile for City Haft: After receiving quotes for the removal of existing <br />carpet and tile as well as for the purchase and installation of carpet and tile for <br />the basement hallways, break room, E.O.C. room and Second Floor rooms 2, 6 <br />and 7, the City Manager recommended that Council accept the Iow bid of <br />$15,173.00 submitted by Applebaum & Associates. <br /> <br />3) 300- 90-Gallon Carts: Mr. Ollendorff reported having received bids for 300 <br />90-gallon carts from five companies. $14,400 had been set aside for the <br />requirement. The responses were as follows: <br /> <br />Company Name <br />Toter, Inc. <br />Rehrig Pacific <br />Downing Sales <br /> <br /> Total <br />$12,585.00 <br />$12,000.00 <br />$14,250.00 <br /> <br />He recommended awardingthe purchaseto Rehrig Pacificfortheirlow bid of <br />$12,000.00. <br /> <br />4) Public Hearing Date - Civil Liberties Resolution: Pulled for discussion later in <br />meeting. <br /> <br />5) Fire Department Turn Out Gear: Frank Ollendorff told Council that bids for 10 <br />sets of turn out coats and pants for the Fire Department have been received. <br />Although only the amount of $11,500 was budgeted, he recommended that the <br />bid be awarded to Battalion Three, a female owned enterprise, for the price of <br />$11,660.00. <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel moved to accept the Consent Calendar.
