<br />September 1, 2015 <br />CPAC Group Review – Draft Olive Boulevard SubArea Plan Comments <br /> <br />General statements <br /> <br />Better support of recommendations with data – Though some of this information may be <br /> <br />contained in the Existing Conditions or elsewhere in the report, it should be incorporated <br />specifically in the SubArea plan. <br /> <br />Include proposed land use map/information in each specific district for ease of reference. <br /> <br /> <br />Ensure that where expansion is recommended into residential areas, it is clear that buyouts are <br /> <br />on a voluntary basis. <br /> <br />Encourage the City, businesses along Olive Boulevard, and the residents to discuss a joint <br /> <br />mission and goals for the International District with respect to branding, race/culture <br />relationships? <br /> <br />Incorporate recommendations to bring high speed internet to Olive Boulevard. <br /> <br /> <br />Refine the colors in the land use map to ensure distinction between districts <br /> <br /> <br />Page 1: <br /> <br />Change the western boundary of the Parkway District to Midland at a minimum, perhaps west <br /> <br />to Mount Vernon. <br /> <br />Work with various organizations such as the Army Corps of Engineers, FEMA, MSD etc. to ensure <br /> <br />that floodplain development “roadblocks” are minimized where appropriate. <br /> <br />Page 2&3: <br /> <br />Encourage multi-story mixed use development along the corridor which could include <br /> <br />residential components. <br /> <br />Pages 4&5 <br /> <br />Revisit items in the toolbox after review of the Road Diet Study. Ensure the Road Diet study <br /> <br />incorporated recommendations of the Bike-Walk Master Plan. <br /> <br />Pages 6&7 <br /> <br />Reduce the number of wayfinding signs in the corridor. Locate wayfinding signs at key points on <br /> <br />the corridor – i.e. west and east end? <br /> <br />Page 9 – Interchange District <br /> <br />Ensure the community gateway signage is highly visible. <br /> <br /> <br />Page 11 – International District <br /> <br />In proposed local improvements, remove residential areas (in purple) from commercial <br /> <br />expansion areas. <br /> <br />Reduce the number of wayfaring signs in the International District. <br /> <br /> <br />Better describe how the intersection tools are being implemented in identified areas. <br /> <br /> <br />Page 12 – Parkway District <br /> <br />Remove specifics on modifying neighborhood circulation -- add conceptual illustration <br /> <br /> <br />Add a sentence that residents will be engaged in any discussion of modifying neighborhood <br /> <br />circulation. <br /> <br />
