<br /> <br />Economic Development Retail Sales Tax Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />March16, 2017 <br />4:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />The Economic Development Retail Sales Tax Board (EDRSTB) held a meeting at the Heman Park <br />Community Center located at 975 Pennsylvania, University City, Missouri. The meeting commenced at <br />4:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Voting Members Present <br />Raheem Adegboye <br />Kristine Hendrix <br />Brendan O’Brien <br />Robert Kuhlman, Jr. <br />George Lenard <br />Robyn Williams <br />Mark Winer, Chair <br /> <br />Non-Voting Ex-Officio Members Present <br />Shelley Welsch, Mayor <br />Joe Edwards <br />Tim O’Donnell <br /> <br />Staff Present <br /> <br />Andrea Riganti, Director of Community Development <br />Jodie Lloyd, Manager of Economic Development <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Meeting was called to order at 4:02pm, all voting members present <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />The minutes of the February 16, 2017 meeting were reviewed and discussed. Two corrections were made to <br />the minutes. One correction was to reflect that Ms. Hendrix was at the meeting and one to correct the <br />spelling of Mr. Winer. The Board approved the corrected minutes by a vote of 7-0. <br /> <br />Old Business <br />None <br /> <br />Other Business (Board approved moving this agenda item before New Business) <br />a. Public Comments <br /> <br />Jessica Hoagland, 8125 Pershing <br />Ms. Hoagland is an advisor for the Midtown Farmers Market. She stated the farmers markets are business <br />incubators. Midtown Farmers Market is important to the community and good for the local economy. She <br />indicated that the Market is a job creator and also provides an attractive, fun, and festive atmosphere for <br />shoppers at the Market and in the Delmar Loop. <br /> <br />Julia Li, Founder, Create Space <br />Ms. Li read the Board a prepared statement. She indicated she was encouraged to continue to speak up <br />and fight for inclusion in our “fragmented city.” Ms. Li wants to keep Create Space in University City but <br />without a municipal partner may have to move the concept to another City. Create Space has obtained <br />grants from the World Trade Center and RAC but it was built to include and be supported by a municipal <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />
