<br />Other Business, Public Comments <br />Mary Adams, Executive Director, University City Chamber of Commerce <br />Ms. Adams introduced herself to the Board as the new Chamber Executive Director. Ms. Adams <br />stated that she is excited to be at the Chamber to work with the Board to create a vibrant <br />business center. Ms. Williams asked Ms. Adams about the Chamber’s marketing report that was <br />to be due in November. Ms. Adams stated that change at the Chamber has relayed the <br />reporting and that the Board will receive the marketing plan by the end of the year. She <br />appreciates the Board’s patience during the transition. <br />Kevin Taylor, 7022 Canton Avenue <br />Mr. Taylor stated that Create Space didn’t indicated the organization would be coming back to <br />request funds. That was not in the August meeting minutes. Mr. Kuhlman stated that the Board <br />requested Create Space come back to provide a status update and the Board voted for the <br />budget amendment sent to City Council. Mr. Taylor also stated that the Board should let citizens <br />know which entity is getting EDRST funds and that some applicants could have conflicts of <br />interest. He stated that the Board should also review financials of each applicant and the <br />commercial kitchen. Does the project generate more businesses and sales tax – that could be <br />used as a metric? Mr. Taylor stated that the Board should also review the Comprehensive Plan <br />and how the EDRST fits into that process. <br />Deb Henderson, Midtown Farmers Market <br />Ms. Henderson reported to the Board that there will be a holiday market on Saturday, <br />th <br />Decembers 10. She also stated that new this year was a tree farm open during weekdays and <br />weekends through Christmas. <br />Reports <br />a. City Council Liaison – Mayor Welsch reported that the current City Manager has been <br />suspended. She also stated she attended the groundbreaking of the new location of Urban <br />Sprouts in the former McCarthy Spice building on Olive Blvd. The location of Urban Sprouts <br />creates an “early learning” hub in that area of University City. She stated that the Loop will <br />nd <br />be holding a tree lighting ceremony at Fitzs on December 2 and that the school district will <br />th <br />have a State of the Schools on December 6. <br /> <br />b. Staff Report - Ms. Lloyd provided the Board with an update on staff activities. Staff working <br />with Chamber and Delmar Loop on holiday activities to generate additional traffic. Shop <br />small was a key theme this year. Ms. Lloyd stated that the brewery site plan will be going to <br />th <br />City Council for approval at the January 9 meeting. Staff and Chamber also working on a <br />plan to revamp the olivelink.com website. <br /> <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 5:25 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
