ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: IS THE PROJECT ON TARGET TO MEET ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT GOALS AND
OBJECTIVES?
finishing our Second Year Of EDRST Fiscal Support from University City
As we work on , we are on target to meeting
most ofour goals and objectives.

W-going difficultiesand
negative publicity all businesses in the area encountered during the trolley construction and Social House II controversy. The
downturn in customer attendance caused a couple of vendors to not return this year.

Even though the special events we hosted last year were very well attended and helped to create a positive image for the
market, the overall downturn in visitors to the area hurt us economically. We are currently working to bring in new farmers and
vendors and are confident we can bring our customer base back up with the now, easier customer access and a more positive
view of the whole area.

One of things we were known for before moving to University City from Clayton was our ability to be a launching ground for
small food entrepreneurs, farmers and other vendors to expand their businesses beyond the farmers market. As a previous
small business owner, this is an area of economic development that is especially meaningful to me.

In spite of the negative influences mentioned above, we were able to make introductions for a few of our farmers for wholesale
placement of their products. For example, a Loop restaurant is using eggs from one of our farmers; Ludwig Farmstead Dairy is
now in United Provisions and another farmer had products used by chefs at Dining Services at Washington University. And
the market.

Now that the aforementioned external factors are over, we look forward to a
as the prospect of creating a positive economic development environment for all involved with the market.

BRIEFLY
During the fourth quarter, we will open the regular market season with three smaller spring markets in April. Then in May as
our summer farmers and other vendors arrive we begin to add special events and promotions.

With continued EDRST support through the 2017 Fiscal Year, we are confident that we can continue to provide a Community
Farmers Market to all of University City residents and eventually become a premier destination market in this inner suburban
area of St. Louis County.
