MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY HALL, Fifth Floor <br />6801 Delmar Blvd. <br />University City, Missouri 63130 <br />June 26, 2017 <br />6:30 p.m. <br />A.MEETINGCALLED TO ORDER <br />At the Regular Session of the City Council of University City held on the fifth floor of City Hall, <br />on Monday, June 26, 2017, Mayor Shelley Welsch, called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br />B.ROLLCALL <br />In addition to the Mayor, the following members of Council were present: <br />Councilmember Rod Jennings <br />Councilmember Paulette Carr <br />Councilmember Steven McMahon <br />Councilmember Terry Crow <br />Councilmember Michael Glickert(Excused) <br />Councilmember Bwayne Smotherson <br />Also in attendance was Interim City Manager, Charles Adams and City Attorney, JohnMulligan. <br />C.APPROVAL OFAGENDA <br />Councilmember Crow moved to approve the agenda as presented, it was seconded by <br />Councilmember Jennings and the motion carried unanimously. <br />D.PROCLAMATIONS <br />E.APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />1. <br />June 12,2017,Study Session minuteswere moved for approval by Councilmember <br />Jennings, seconded by Councilmember Carr and the motion carried unanimously. <br />2. <br />June 12, 2017,Regular Session minuteswere moved for approval by <br />Councilmember Carr, was seconded by Councilmember Smotherson and the <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />F.APPOINTMENTStoBOARDS&COMMISSIONS <br />G.SWEARING IN toBOARDS&COMMISSIONS <br />H.CITIZEN PARTICIPATION (Total of15minutesallowed) <br />Jeff Hales, 7471 Kingsbury, University City, MO <br />Mr. Hales stated although he is a member of the Traffic Commission his comments do not <br />reflect the Commission as a whole. <br />Last week an article in the RFTsuggested that the Traffic Commission was to blame for <br />the current situation in The Loop with respect to bicycles; their interaction with the Trolley, <br />and the Commission's recommendation to ban bicycles from The Loop. While all of these <br />statements are totally untrue, essentially what they represent is a massive breakdown of the <br />process and the design. <br /> <br />Page 1 of 16 <br /> <br />
