Session 1894 <br />August 18, 2003 <br /> with Mr. Ollendoff to view the construction drawings, they confirmed that the <br /> ledge will be retained. <br /> <br />Richard Dockett, 6844 Crest Avenue, thanked the City and City Manager for the <br />concert at Heman Park. He commented favorably about the performers, the <br />safety, and work of police officials with crowds and traffic control. Mr. Dockett <br />further described problems with children and adolescents loitering on July 8, <br />2003 in front of his house and ones at 6825 and 6814 Crest Avenue; alluded to <br />gang activity; and mentioned threats made to him when he complained about <br />these issues to police. He named the person making threats as "Big Ronnie", <br />mentioned that this person is a parolee, and asked if the City has any jurisdiction <br />over persons on parole. He reported that "Big Ronnie" complained about him to <br />the police, and that an Officer Lemon in turn cited Mr. Dockett. He seeks <br />clarification of these issues and an end to the problems they generate. <br /> <br />Shirley Cureau, 7130 Cambridge Avenue, complained that dogs are allowed to <br />swim in public pools on September 2, 2003 from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Her concerns are <br />those of health and liability. She questioned the Mayor and City Council's <br />knowledge of and approval of this event. <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff said he approved the event, the City Council did not. It is a one- <br />time event, held the day after the pool closes to the public. The week following <br />the dog event, the pool is drained, cleaned and turned over to contractors for <br />rebuilding, to reopen next spring. The roll <br />call vote was as follows: AYES - Ms. Colquitt, Mr. Munkel, Mr. Wagner, <br />Mr. Lieberman, Ms. Welsch, Mr. Sharpe, and Mayor Adams. NAYS- <br />None.
