Session 1898 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />September 29, 2003 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City held in the Council <br />Chambers of City Hall, on Monday, September 29 2003, Mayor Joseph Adams <br />called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the Mayor, the following <br />members of Council were present: <br /> <br />Ms. Cassandra Colquitt (7:45 p.m.) <br />Mr. Wayne Munkel <br />Mr. Larry Lieberman <br />Ms. Shelley Welsch <br />Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />Also present were the City Manager, Mr. Frank Ollendorff, and the Assistant City <br />Manager, Thomas Moton. Excused: Mr. Robert Wagner. <br /> <br />MINUTES: <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe moved approval of the minutes of the September 15, 2003 regular <br />meeting. Mr. Munkel seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />PROCLAMATIONS <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel moved to approve a proclamation declaring October 2003 as <br />Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The motion was seconded by Ms. Welsch <br />and carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel moved to approve a second proclamation to make October 26, 2003, <br />Make a Difference Day. Ms. Welsch said the date should be October 25, 2003, <br />instead of October 26, 2003 as announced, and the change was noted. Mr. <br />Sharpe seconded the motion, which was carried unanimously. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />Mr. Lieberman moved and Mr. Sharpe seconded a resolution directing that plans <br />and specifications to start the initiate the process of creating a neighborhood <br />improvement district to allow for the repaving of Dartmouth and Tulane Streets, <br />from Midland Boulevard to Jackson Avenue, with all costs payable by adjacent <br />property owners. <br /> <br />Henry J. Barry, 7228 Dartmouth Avenue, spoke both as a trustee of University <br />Park Number Two Subdivision and as a resident, affirming his support for this <br /> <br /> <br />
