Session 1900 <br />November 3, 2003 <br /> <br />PERMITTED, ALLOWED OR CONTINUED TO THE DAMANGE OR INJURY OF <br />ANY OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE CITY," THEREBY AMENDING SAID <br />SECTIONS SO AS TO MAKE VARIOUS AMENDMENTS TO SUBSTANTIVE <br />AND PROCEDUREAL PROVISIONS IN SAID SECTIONS, AND CHANGE <br />THEIR TITLES; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A <br />PENLTY. <br /> <br />The bill was given it first reading and assigned the number 8697. <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel asked Mr. Ollendorff to explain the need for this provision. Mr. <br />Ollendorff said it resulted from an earlier request by the City Council to <br />strengthen the nuisance closure provisions of the City Code. The special <br />attorney recommended eight or nine technical amendments to provide a better <br />legal basis for closures and to clarify the types of violations that can result in <br />closure. It is a legal strengthening of the ordinance. He promised copies of the <br />memo for Council Members. Mr. Munkel said he wanted to know for himself and <br />for the benefit of those present in the audience. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel moved to go into Executive Session in five minutes time on the <br />Second Floor of City Hall to discuss matters relating to personnel 610.021, <br />Section Three, and Mr. Wagner seconded the motion. The vote was as follows: <br />AYES:- Ms. Colquitt, Mr. Munkel, Mr. Wagner, Mr. Lieberman, Ms. Welsch, Mr. <br />Sharpe, and Mayor Adams.
