Session 1902 <br />December 1,2003 <br /> <br />SECTION SO AS TO ADD AN EXCEPTION FOR THE MINIMUM LOT AREA <br />AND WIDTH; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A <br />PENALTY. <br /> <br />The bill was read for the first time and given the Number 8703. <br /> <br />6. A bill was introduced by Ms. Welsch, entitled: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A SPECIAL ASSESSMENT OR TAX AGAINST <br />PROPERTY IN A BENEFIT DISTRICT FOR THE PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT OF <br />MENDELL-SEVENTY NINTH STORM CHANNEL, AND DIRECTING THE <br />ISSUANCE OF SPECIAL TAX BILLS. <br /> <br />The bill was read for the first time and given the Number 8704. <br /> <br />Executive Session <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved that the City Council meet for an Executive Session on Saturday, <br />December 6, 2003 at 9:00 a.m. to be held in the City Hall Second Floor conference <br />room, to discuss a legal matter. Mr. Sharpe seconded the motion. The vote was as <br />follows: AYES: Ms. Colquitt, Mr. Wagner, Mr. Lieberman, Ms. Welsch, Mr. Sharpe, and <br />Mayor Adams. NAYS: none. The motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />COMMENTS <br /> <br />Mayor Adams said that a Study Session would follow the Executive Session on <br />Saturday, December 6, 2003, to be held at the same place. <br /> <br />Ms. Welsch asked Mr. Ollendorff to provide an explanation for how the architects for the <br />recreation center devised the "buildable area for the recreation center expansion." She <br />wanted to know what their criteria were. <br /> <br />Ms. Colquitt commented that today is World AIDS Day. "Dine Out for Life" is a program <br />to help support AIDS in St. Louis. HIV and AIDS are the number one killers of African <br />Americans and University City has approximate 200 people who are infected. She <br />urged people to be tested and to become aware of their HIV status. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe reminded people to obtain flu and pneumonia shots. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />The next regular meeting of the City Council will be held on Monday, December 15, <br />2003 at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Page 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
