The Community Development Department staff research concluded that City revenues,
which are dependent on population, contradict the assumption that residential
development has an overall negative impact on the City budget. The data they collected
indicated that revenues were higher per capita than per worker. Also, the study showed
that the overall impact of the increase in residents could offset any negative impact
through positive economic gains.

The Community Development Department provided a map of potential areas for increased
and varied density housing.

The remaining time left in the session was covered by a quick review of potential service
reductions in FY 09 and FY 10.

Meeting was adjourned at 6:25 p.m.

Joyce Pumm, City Clerk
