Mayor Adams convened the new Council on April 21, 2008, 7:45 p.m. <br />In addition to Mayor Adams, the following members of the Council were present: <br /> Mr. Byron Price <br /> Mr. Robert Wagner <br /> Mr. Terry Crow <br /> Mr. Michael Glickert <br /> Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr <br />Ms. Ricci had an excused absence. <br />H. CONSENT AGENDA <br />1. <br />Sutter Meyer Lease <br />2. <br />Law Enforcement Safety Grant <br />3. <br />Recreation Fee Policies and Procedures <br />Mayor Adams asked the Sutter Meyer lease on the Consent Agenda be pulled <br />for discussion. <br />Mr. Wagner moved for approval of Consent Agenda items two and three, was <br />seconded by Mr. Sharpe, Jr. and was approved unanimously. <br />1. Sutter Meyer Lease <br />Mayor Adams requested the Sutter Meyer Lease be pulled as he saw some <br />problems with the lease as he read it. <br />Mr. Wagner asked if the Director of Community Development Lehman Walker <br />could come to the microphone in order to answer any of Mayor Adams’ concerns <br />that would be addressed. <br />The following were Mayor Adams’ concerns: <br /> Third Whereas stating “...renovating the Building in accordance with the U.S. <br />Secretary of Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties…..”. <br />Mr. Adams was not clear as to what standards, the 1800’s, the 1930’s or the <br />2000 standards. In the same paragraph, Mayor Adams asked who the <br />“Strategic Plan” was to be submitted to: the City, the Council. <br />Mr. Lehman Walker said it had no reference to a time period but rather it <br />specified particulars as what kind of wood was to be used in restoration, etc. <br />Mr. Lehman said that the “Strategic Plan” was to be submitted by the Sutter <br />Meyer Society to the Council for consideration and the timing of this was to be <br />January 31, 2009. <br />Mr. Glickert moved that it be amended to read “…..which will be submitted by <br />the Sutter Meyer Society to the Council for consideration, no later than January <br />31, 2009….”” This motion was seconded by Mr. Price and approved by the <br />majority. <br />Mayor Adams asked Ms. Watson if the City Attorney had gone over this <br />document (lease) as he found a lot of failures. <br /> <br />
