To: Honorable Mayor Adams and City Council
From: Janet Watson, Acting City Manager
Date: June 2, 2008
Subject: City Manager’s Report
______________________________________________________________________
1. Request for Liquor License – Winslow’s House.
This general merchandise
store with prepared food and grocery has already been approved for a liquor
license by the package, retail. At this time, this business is looking to expand to
serving liquor of all kinds by the drink, including Sunday sales. The Police Chief
has approved the background investigation.
2. Emergency Reading on June 23, 2008 for Orchard Development - Trianon
Project
–NO ACTION - FOR DISCUSSION ONLY. Orchard Development is the
developer of the proposed Trianon mixed-use project on Forsythe Boulevard, a
project mostly located in the City of Clayton with a portion in University City.
Clayton has given the developer final approval and University City approval must
come from the Plan Commission as well as the City Council. Due to advertising
requirements, the item will not be on the Council agenda until June 23, 2008 for a
first reading, with final approval July 21 due to the fact that we only have one
Council meeting planned for July. The developer is asking at this time per the
letter attached, that the approval be taken up as an emergency reading on June
23, 2008. I am requesting Council’s decision on whether to post the item as an
emergency reading.
Attachments:
Letter from Orchard Development – Trianon Project
Liquor License report
