BILL NO. ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE REIMBURSEMENT OF CERTAIN CITY OFFICIALS FOR EXPENSES INCURRED BY THEM IN OPERATING THEIR OWN AUTOMOBILES IN TRANSACTION OF BUSINESS FOR THE CITY, REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 6646. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. From and after June 25, 2008, the officials in the position hereinafter set forth may be required to operate their own automobiles and if so required shall receive, upon prior authorization of the City Manager, the following amounts monthly for expenses paid by them in operating their automobiles in business for the City: Assistant City Manager 134 Construction Inspector (may be classified as building/ plumbing/electric inspector) 260 Asst to Director of Public Works/Engineering Manager 163 Current Planning Mgr./Zoning Administrator 122 Deputy City Manager/Director of Finance 122 Director of Information Technology 25 Director of Parks, Recreation and Forestry 163 Director of Community Development 122 Director of Public Works 260 Senior Public Works Manager 75 Forestry Supervisor 163 Inspector I 228 Inspector II 228 Information Technology Specialist 25 Mayor 41 Project Manager I and II 163 Senior Plans Examiner/Inspector 130 Section 2. From and after June 25, 2008, all City employees other than those enumerated in Section 1 above, not receiving a regular automobile allowance but operating their own automobiles on City business, upon prior authorization by their department head, shall be compensated at the rate of fifty and one half cents (50.5¢) per mile. Section 3. In the event the City furnishes any of the officials enumerated above automotive equipment to be used in their work, the amounts specified for operating their own private vehicles shall be terminated.
