<br />, <br />)0' , <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2008 . 6 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a municipal election was held in the City of University City, Missouri on <br />Tuesda~ApriI8,2008;and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said election was conducted according to the laws of the State of <br />Missouri, the City Charter and Ordinances of the City of University City, and the rules and <br />regulations promulgated by the Board of Election Commissioners of St. Louis County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the following were candidates for the respective office as shown: <br /> <br />Stefany Brot <br />Terry Crow <br /> <br />Councilmember, First Ward <br />Councilmember, First Ward <br /> <br />Lynn Ricci <br /> <br />Councilmember, Second Ward <br /> <br />Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />Council member, Third Ward <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, pursuant to Article IX, Section of the City Charter, the election <br />returns shall be canvassed by the City Council at a meeting not later than forty-eight hours <br />after their receipt by the City Clerk, and the candidates receiving the highest number of <br />votes for each office be declared elected, and <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, pursuant to the laws of the State of Missouri, the City Charter, <br />and the Ordinances of the City of University City, and the rules and regulations <br />promulgated by the Board of Election Commissioners of St. Louis County, the City Council <br />of University City, at a meeting held on April 21, 2008, at 6:30 p.m., upon the certification <br />of the returns by the Board of Election Commissioners of St. Louis County from the twenty <br />precincts in the City of University City, and upon certification by the City Clerk of the results <br />of said election held Tuesday, April 8, 2008, in the City of University City, and as <br />canvassed by the Council of said returns of said election, and it appearing that the votes <br />received are as follows: <br /> <br />Number of Votes <br /> <br />Stefany Brot <br />Terry Crow <br /> <br />Council member, First Ward <br />Councilmember, First Ward <br /> <br />448 <br />1038 <br /> <br />Lynn Ricci <br /> <br />Council member, Second Ward <br /> <br />550 <br /> <br />Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />Council member, Third Ward <br /> <br />460 <br /> <br />BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the following candidates, appearing to have <br />received the largest number of votes, be declared elected for the term set forth. <br />
